No, Champagne Blend green tea doesn’t taste like champagne, and it certainly isn’t from France (it’s from an Assam producer which is well-known as one of India’s most ecologically conscious tea producers) but its flavor quality and enjoyability, as well as the painstaking handiwork that went into making it, can only be compared to the way the best of the bubbly stuff is produced.
It starts with the soil; the soil this tea is grown in is continually monitored and replenished through natural methods, to ensure that soil quality remains high between each crop. Then thanks to expert hand-picking, only the best tea leaves are selected and eventually make it to this blend. The result? A premium and authentic green tea that tastes a bit raw, but not in a way that may put off newer green tea aficionados.
Flavour: This tea’s rich flavor profile starts with a creamy note, but ends with a soft steamed vegetable-type flavor.
Best Enjoyed With: Honey and/or citrus (lemon, lime, or even orange if you prefer). Our preference is with a half teaspoon or so of honey.
When Should I Sip This Tea?: This tea is great anytime of the day.
Steep For: 3 Minutes at just under boiling temperature (don’t leave it in too long, otherwise this tea may become bitter)
Other Things You Should Know: This tea is certified organic by USDA, and is also Fair Trade- certified, Ethical Tea Partnership-Certified, and Rainforest Alliance Certified.
If you skipped all that, just know that this tea is good for everyone, not just those of us who drink it.
Also, this tea is loose leaf and shipped in 100 g/3.5 oz quantities. This is enough for at least 45 cups of tea.
